Social White Shark
The Great White Shark has had a bad reputation since ages, but recent studies have shown that the great white is not just a ferocious killer, and even less a maneater. Observation of their behaviour proves that there is a hierarchy between great whites that is strictly respected. It appears that age and size somehow play a role in this system. Several researchers have swum with great whites, even caressing them as they passed, even taking a ride while holding their dorsal fin. The useless hunting of this fish causes rapid decreases of its global population, resulting in estimates that their days may be counted somewhere this century. |
