Sarkozy
Nicolas Sarkozy was elected president of France in the summer of 2007. His main opponent was Segolene Royal who represented the socialist party, the PS. Sarkozy himself is more right-wing, respresenting the UMP (Union du Mouvement Politique). Since his election he has proposed several measures to get the French economy back on track. One example is the plan to allow a workweek with more than 35 hours: before Sarkozy people were not allowed to work more than 35 hours a week. |
